In pain? We keep slots free every day for emergencies
Call the clinic nearest you, or send a WhatsApp message and a photo. We will tell you straight away whether you need to be seen today.
Outside clinic hours, leave a WhatsApp message with a photo and what happened. We pick these up first thing and will fit you in.
Is this an emergency?
What we treat the same day
If any of these describe you, call rather than book online.
Severe toothache that will not settle
Pain keeping you awake, or not responding to ordinary painkillers, usually means the nerve is involved. It very rarely improves on its own.
Facial swelling
Swelling of the gum, cheek or jaw suggests infection. Do not wait on this one. If the swelling is spreading towards your eye or under your jaw, or you are having trouble swallowing or breathing, go to a hospital emergency department now rather than waiting for a dental appointment.
A knocked-out tooth
Time matters enormously here. Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. Keep it in milk, or in your cheek, and get to us straight away. A tooth replanted quickly can survive.
Broken or chipped tooth
Bring any pieces you have. Even a large fracture can often be rebuilt if you are seen before the nerve becomes infected.
A crown, bridge or filling that has come out
Keep the piece and avoid chewing on that side. Most can be re-cemented if the tooth underneath is sound.
Bleeding that will not stop after an extraction
Bite firmly on clean gauze or a folded handkerchief for twenty minutes without checking it. Call us if it continues.
Go to a hospital, not to us
If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling spreading towards your eye or down your neck, a high fever with facial swelling, or an injury involving more than the teeth, go to a hospital emergency department immediately. Those need care a dental clinic cannot give.
